Wood Supply and Treating Facilities
One of Stella-Jones' main competitive advantages is its strong wood supply
position in key regions in Canada and the United States, where the Company has
established solid long-term relationships with its raw materials suppliers. In
addition, Stella-Jones sources some of its wood supply from its own extensive
cutting rights in Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia. Stella-Jones operates 19 wood treating facilities. In Canada, these facilities are located in New Westminster (British Columbia), Prince George (British Columbia), Carseland (Alberta), Guelph (Ontario), Delson (Quebec), Gatineau (Quebec), Sorel-Tracy (Quebec), and Truro (Nova Scotia). In the United States, treating facilities are located in Arlington (Washington), Bangor (Wisconsin), Spencer (West Virginia), Russellville (Arkansas), Alexandria (Louisiana), Fulton (Kentucky), Winslow (Indiana), Warrior (Alabama), Goshen (Virginia), McAlisterville and Dubois (Pennsylvania). The Company also owns two pole peeling facilities in Revelstoke (British Columbia) and Juliaetta (Idaho) and has a 50% interest in a third pole peeling operation in Maple Ridge (British Columbia). |
