Operations Our Operations teams are responsible for ensuring that the manufacturing process occurs on schedule and meets critical customer deadlines.  Under strict specifications, the manufacturing process typically involves the drying and impregnation of wood with preservatives through hydraulic pressure.  With a strong network of facilities in multiple Canadian provinces and across the United States, the Stella-Jones footprint is extensive and offers vast opportunities for individuals to join the tie, pole and residential lumber operational teams, where individuals are cross-trained in production and operational roles.  The railroad tie division provides railroad ties, crossings and bridges to commercial customers and to each of the Class I Railroads in the United States and Canada. In our pole division, we are exceptionally proud of our production employees who are capable of meeting the urgent needs of customers and communities when severe storms and other emergency events occur. In our residential lumber division, our full service directly to retailers continues to grow in size and scope.

Stella-Jones seeks to promote from within, as evidenced by many employees who began in entry-level production positions and currently serve today in management roles. We recognize that employees are our biggest asset, and our employees take pride in manufacturing quality timber products for our customers.
