Stella-Jones is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Eugene, Oregon. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for the review and processing of supplier payments to keep accounting records up to date and accurate. The Accounting Clerk is also responsible for the timely and accurate processing of production activities. This position also serves as a backup to other office staff in case of absence

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts payable process owner for all materials consumed at the Eugene location including yard maintenance, operational products and equipment, incoming white wood and preservatives. Activities include:
    • Matching vendor invoices to PO's and packing slips
    • Code and provide invoices to plant manager for approval
    • Enter invoices into accounting system
    • Provide Payment Due Report to corporate office
    • Mail checks to vendors
  • Backup Dispatch to validate quantities and receive inbound loads of material in the accounting system
  • Accurately and timely process treat charges, cut cards, and other production activities into the accounting system throughout the month
  • Distribute mail to other staff at the plant
  • Interact directly with suppliers as needed
  • Assists the office manager with reconciliation of account balances, inquiries, etc.
  • Answers and directs all incoming calls
  • Greets public when they arrive at the front desk
  • Ensures lobby area is presentable to public
  • Performs other duties as required

 Qualifications:

  • Education: Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Two years of related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
